Lot 172

1795 S-78 R1 Plain Edge G6. Clipped Planchet. A point or two sharper, especially on the obverse, but there are traces of minor roughness on both sides. No notable marks, but you can find traces of very shallow reddish verdigris in a few places. Slightly glossy dark steel brown and chocolate with reddish chocolate in protected areas. The date is strong and the legends are easily readable except for weakness at UNITED and AMERICA. MDS with the usual subtle swelling in the obverse fields. A curved planchet clip affects the dentils left of the date and the opposing ones at STA.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
Lawrie Rhoads collection.
