Lot 139

1794 S-38 R5 G6. Several points sharper but the fields and protected areas are covered with light roughness. The devices are smooth and there is no verdigris. The notable marks are a diagonal scratch under the cap into the hair and a shorter one near the dentils off the chin, plus a scuff of hairline scratches across the date. Slightly glossy dark olive brown with lighter brown and chocolate toning covering the devices. The date is relatively weak but easily readable while the legends are complete and clear. EDS. The chip defects in the field under the cap are strong.
Estimated Value $600-UP.
Ex 1999 EAC Sale, 4/17/1999:139-Lawrie Rhoads collection.
