Lot 552
1797 S-136 R3 VG8. Sharpness EF40 but dull and covered with fine to moderate granularity. The roughness is strongest on the lower half of the reverse where shallow reddish scale and verdigris covers the protected areas. Most likely this piece was lost in soil for some time after brief use in commerce. Dark olive and steel mixed with reddish chocolate. The date is bold and the legends are complete. MDS.
