Argolis, Argos, c. 370-350 BC. AR Stater (12.02 g). Head right of Hera wearing necklace and stephane ornamented with palmettes. Reverse: Two dolphins swimming in opposing directions; between them, vine branch with grape cluster. Babelon (Traité III) 621; BMC 38. Reverse slightly double-struck. Extremely rare. Very Fine to Extremely Fine.
The obverse depicts the head of Hera from the famous ivory and gold statue by Polyklitos.
