Lot 1362
1920-D. PCGS graded MS-64. A frosty white example. The head is a soft as usual and overall, quite choice. In a 1st generation PCGS holder. With the change to 1920-dated dies the mint adjusted the design of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Liberty’s cap has been redesigned with more grooves at the back and a larger fold at the top. Below, the ground line from date to sun has been given a sharp raised edge. Finally, the outer edge of the flag curl by the knee has had a raised border added to it.
The lower mintage 1920-D Walking Liberty is scarce in such choice condition. The good judge of quality will appreciate this MS64 and take the opportunity to acquire it. Pop 106; 42 in 65, 6 in 66. Estimated Value $3,800 - 4,000.
