Beery, Noah. Untitled Bronze Western Sculpture. Three riders on horseback--two scouts and a trooper. The scouts wear wide-brimmed hats; the first scout holds a pistol aloft in his right hand and rides his bucking horse; the second scout displays a troop pennant. The trooper, who wears a kepi and uniform, blows a bugle. The bronze weighs 27½ pounds, is 17 inches in height (to top of banner), 15 inches long, and 5½ inches wide. The base is signed "74 Noah Beery."
Beery (1916-95) was an American character actor, best known for his role as James Garner's father in the television series, "The Rockford Files." He made sculptures with Western themes.
