Early Hollywood: Al Jolson, Mary Pickford, and Eddie Cantor. This lot includes: (1) a 1937 one-page letter of agreement between the William Morris Agency and Al Jolson, signed at lower left by Jolson, regarding the suspension of the broadcast of the Rinso Lifebuoy Radio program for nine weeks during the summer of 1937 (2) a 1945 four-page American Federation of Radio Artists contract between the William Morris Agency and Mary Pickford, who signed on the last page, agreeing to give the agency a 10% commission for a period of 90 days; and (3) a 1955 two-page contract between the William Morris Agency and Eddie Cantor, who signed on the back, engaging the agency as his exclusive agent for one year. All are intact with some expected age toning. Early signed contracts are not easy to come by.
