Mix, Tom (1880-1940) American actor and star of early Westerns. All but nine of his 336 films, made between 1910-35, were silent. Typed Letter Signed "Tom Mix," one page, 11 x 8½ in., Boston, Mass., June 7, 1928. Written to Jack Aznakian, a young fan in Astoria, New York, who saw Mix and his horse, Tony, at an appearance in New York. Mix is sorry Jack couldn't see or hear him very well in the crowded theatre and he hopes next time he comes East, Jack will be able to see him more clearly. He is happy that Jack likes Tony so much. He also tells Jack to "be a good little boy and do what your mother says…." The paper is toned and shows its age but the typescript and Mix' signature are very clear and strong.
Estimated Value $300 - 400.
