Lot 450

Single Action Colt 45. Manufactured between 1874-1875 (Serial #2566) this is one of the first issues of this attractive composite pistol, with a possible trigger guard replacement. There is a U.S. marking above the trigger guard. Some original bluing in the protected areas in the flutes of the cylinder, with the balance having drifted to attactive brown-grey patina. All of the edges are sharp and there is no pitting. The action is excellent.

The barrel address has worn away with a remnant of an inspector mark on its bottom. Barrel was cut down to 4 3/4". Condition is good, however there has been some cleaning on a few occasions in the past and the grips were once lightly sanded. There are two small chips at the toe.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,500.

Realized $1,560
