Lot 449

Model 1862 Army Colt With Holster. A beautiful example of the 44 cal. Army Colt. This piece is completely original with all of the proper inspection marks and with all matching serial numbers (serial # 36101) and a clear and complete barrel address. The barrel is 8".

This Colt has approximately 70-80% of its original case colors with a metallic rainbow of original bluing above the trigger guard. The cylinder scene is 75% intact. Except for three very small nicks at its rear edge, the cylinder is in exceptional condition. The grips are original and basically untouched with a possible light sanding at one time. The action is excellent.

An additional feature of this pistol is that it was cut for a shoulder stock if needed. The accompanying leather holster is in the style of the period with the date 1860 and the initials JBG carved into its flap. We cannot confirm if this holster originally came with this Colt.
Estimated Value $3,500 - 5,000.

Realized $3,304
