U.S. Military Academy West Point Diploma and Shako. 20 x 13¾in." partially printed on vellum, completed in manuscript. The diploma for Ellison B. Deans, Jr. of North Carolina, Feb. 14, 1908. Signed at the bottom by twelve of Dean's professors. Scattered foxing and soiling. With a West Point Cadet's black shako with brass-colored trim, c. 1923, 7 in. tall with 6 in. plume. West Point metal crest at front, with "DUTY HONOR COUNTRY WEST POINT MDCCCII USMA" when the crest was switched to face the right side. Brass-colored "CADET USMA" buttons and marked on inside brim: "THE CADET STORE WEST POINT N.Y." Minor wear to surfaces and edges.
