Soyuz 9, 1970, Nikolayev & Sevastyanov Autographs. On a typed letter datelined Houston, October 1970, and addressed to Deke Slayton, Director, Flight Crew Operations, that says, in part; "We wanted for so long to meet you, having heard so many wonderful things about you and the Astronaut Corps in Houston. Now we find these all to be true except we were not quite prepared for the comradery, the laughter, the friendship, the gaiety and the warmth we experienced. We know you had much to do in making this all possible. We cannot let too much time pass before we do this again…'. A great letter in surprisingly fluent English. The upper left corner of the letter is missing (torn after having been stapled to something?) which should not detract from this unusual piece of memorabilia.
Estimated Value $150 - 250.
Ex. the Donald "Deke"Slayton Family collection.

Realized $65
