Lot 1538

Shuttle Program, 1977//2000, Shuttle-Type Models (11x4") Lot of three different Shuttle-related contractor and other models including 1) a striking "Halnet Int'l." Shuttle "stack" model (11x14") with the early version white external tank on a 5" round wooden base. The white external tank was only used on the first Shuttle test flight. Some faults; 2) This white composite NASA "Wind Tunnel"model (9.5x7") has straight winglets. The model was used for in the pre-shuttle days to determine the shape of the accepted Shuttle design. This design obviously did not make the cut. The model is a bit battered, but except for one of the horizontal stabilizers having been lost over the years, it is in very acceptable shape and is probably unique and 3) an X-33 Lockheed Martin "Venture Star" contractor's model (8x9"). This vehicle was planned to be a next-generation, commercially-operated reusable launch vehicle but failures led to the program cancellation in 2001. Excellent condition. These three models show the evolution of the Shuttle type space vehicle from early concept to accepted version to the next or future generation. A great lot.
Estimated Value $750 - 1,000.

Realized $420
