Lot 1407

ASTP, 1975, Equipment including Brass Flashlight. Lot of four different pieces of unidentified equipment including 1) A "Panel 8 / Pyro Guard" red screw-in piece that is marked "V36-761785" and "V36-761726" on the inside, 2) a "2.25x1" nut and bolt, both painted red, 3) an aluminum value with a movable open/closed knob on one side. The tube is hand wrapped with white cloth tape on one end. No markings and 4) an unusual brass flashlight (similar to those carried onboard numerous flight), but without NASA markings. This one has what appears to have a hand-cross hatched "CN 5" on the barrel along with hand marked "OFF" and "ON" markings. The end of the barrel is marked "426" by hand and the glass on the lens is cracked. White velcro tape rounds out the picture. The piece appears to be well used. We can't say that any of these pieces are specific to the ASTP mission as Deke was involved with most of America's space missions, but it makes a nice starting point for collectors to begin their research. A nice lot.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.
Ex. the Donald "Deke"Slayton Family collection.
