Lot 1329

Apollo Program, c1960s, Fire Retardant Material aka Beta Cloth, Investigation Files. This two carton lot contains correspondence and sample material used in the creation of Beta Cloth and other fire retardant features fixtures of the Command Module. Headed by Matthew Radnofsky, this program was created as a result of the Apollo 1 fire which was traced back to the lack of fire retardant materials in the Command Module. This lot is a mixture of the good, bad and the "other", but it shows some of the avenues the team followed in studying this problem - which was ultimately successful. An interesting lot.
Estimated Value $150 - 250.

Realized $189
