Apollo Program, 1964, Clifton Curtis (C. C.) Williams Autograph. On a typed letter on NASA letterhead dated September 11, 1964. He says: "I have taken the liberty of signing your 'covers' as you requested, and I wish I could secure the signatures of the other fellows who were selected with me for this program, but, unfortunately I cannot. We have found it necessary to establish certain guidelines for filling autograph requests due to the time required to sign the many items we receive daily…" An important letter that explains the astronauts signing position of the day. This is the first original signed document we have ever handled signed by Williams. He was one of the astronauts killed in an airplane crash. He died in October 1967, before he ever had a chance to fly for NASA. A rare and attractive document.
Estimated Value $500 - 750.
