Lot 1142

Apollo 6, 1968, NASA 16mm Color Film. A full reel of 16mm. color film in a NASA metal film can with the label reading: "4-17-68 / Apollo 6 Mission". This mission was the Apollo program's second and last "A type" mission - an unmanned test flight of its Saturn V launch vehicle. It was intended to demonstrate full lunar injection capability of the Saturn V and heat shield capability. Fuel line failures in several Saturn V second and third stage engines prevented the capsule from achieving injection, but the test was deemed successful overall. This is the first official film from this mission we have seen. ALSO included is a similar full roll of NASA 16mm. color film with a label that reads: "Astronaut Anniversary Film / CA". We haven't attempted to screen either roll of film, so who known what delights for the lucky buyer of this film. These rolls appear to be in excellent condition.
Estimated Value $150 - 250.
