Apollo 1, 1967, Cloth "Utility Towel" (folded to 1.5x2" in NASA sealed plastic pouch". An included "Stuckey" COA reads: "Following the tragic Apollo 1 fire on January 27th, a series of full-scale flammability tests of the Apollo Command Module were performed in a Command Module Boilerplate test chamber to attempt to determine the cause of the fire. They were followed by additional flammability tests in the Command Module Boilerplate and in a Lunar Module Boilerplate test chamber to evaluate improved fire-resistant materials to allow the resumption of the Apollo flights. The test Boilerplates were outfitted with all components, including crew toiletries. This Apollo utility towel, color-coded for a specific crew member, was not used during the testing…". This towel is marked with a red patch. Probably unique today.
