Lot 741

1925-D. NGC graded MS-67 Full Bands. A spectacular blast white gem! With experts and specialist collectors in the series always looking for top-end pieces, we feel confident they will flock to obtain a high-end example in the present lot. Since most representative 1925-D dimes bear evidence of a less than stellar strike and indifferent mint luster, NGC has certified a mere quartet of pieces at the Gem 67 numeric designation (none beyond), with our offering ranking among the finest known at that service. Born from an original mintage of 5.1 million pieces, the example in the present lot reveals an completely untoned obverse & reverse sporting iridescence silvery whiteness throughout. Neither side has an overt abrasion, as one should look forward to at this sublime numeric grade; the textured surfaces support a satiny sheen of mint luster. The strike is, for all intents and purposes, 100% exact, with the horizontal bands rounded and crisp. Certainly a piece for the specialized collector, and worthy of a premium bid as such. Pop 4; none finer.
Estimated Value $7,000 - 8,000.
