1793 S-9 R2 Wreath Cent with Vine & Bars Edge Device. PCGS graded Fine-15. Rather glossy dark steel and chocolate with traces of lighter reddish brown and chocolate toning in protected areas. The surfaces are covered with extremely faint roughness mixed with small spots of shallow verdigris, but this piece appears smooth to the unaided eye. The only notable mark is a dull but rather deep horizontal scratch close above the fraction bar extending to the wreath stem at the right. The date and legends are strong. E-MDS, Breen state II, with a faint die crack from the rim through CA to the stem and ribbon. Our grade is F15 sharpness net VG10. The Vine & Bars edge device is noted on the PCGS label.
