1906. NGC graded Proof 67* Cameo. An exquisite superb Gem Cameo Proof. Only 160 Proofs struck and this certainly ranks among the finest. Clever individuals might search long hours to unearth any problems with the absolutely gorgeous mint color and surfaces here. The search would turn up nothing but 100% positive results! Sleek bright gold mirror fields polished to perfection as the dies struck, and maintained with loving care ever since by generations of numismatists. The devices too, are well frosted by the dies, including the stars and date as well as the lettering, enough so to earn the coveted "cameo" designation from NGC along with a Star rating. Of course the strike is perfect -- how else could it be? -- with no weak areas whatsoever. Proof mintage for the year was typical for dates after 1900, not very many considering that a few have been spent or lost over the years, or otherwise misplaced, chipping away at available offerings for collectors.
