Lot 1056

1904-S. PCGS graded MS-65. A nice white coin. Most will agree the supply of 1904-S Dollars in dealers' stocks was sizeable enough to meet collector after the end of the Second World War; however, this date is now realized to be very scarce in Mint State. As so often happens, most Uncirculated survivors are bagmarked examples with uninviting luster or poor striking detail. Which is why this solidly graded Gem we expect will bring forth strong bids and lots of floor action at the time it sells. At the MS65 level of preservation, the 1904-S has a low certified population (see below). The luster is satiny in sheen with more than mere hints of brightness in the fields. The strike, while not completely full in the center, clearly outranks the average issue with bold definition in virtually all other areas. A smooth Gem that earns it a premium bid. Pop 112; 12 finer, 1 in 65+, 9 in 66, 2 in 67 (PCGS # 7294) .
Estimated Value $7,000 - 7,500.
