Lot 813

1797 S-124 R5+ G5. Sharpness VG10 or slightly better but lightly corroded with numerous patches of moderate porosity on the obverse. There are areas of shallow reddish brown scale on the obverse and a few specks of similar scale on the reverse. The notable contact marks are a few thin scratches at the 17 in the date and others at F-A. Slightly glossy chocolate and olive with the reddish brown scale mixed in on the obverse. The date and legends are complete and clear except for weakness at the 17 and NE in ONE. Not the most attractive cent in this sale, but the details are excellent for this rare variety.
Estimated Value $200-UP.

Realized $288
