Lot 780

1794 S-68 R5 G4. The obverse is better while the reverse is weaker. Would grade a couple points higher but the planchet is dull from extremely faint granularity. In addition, there is a large pitmark at the jawline under the ear, a small dig at the top of the 7, and several rim dents on both sides. Recolored chocolate and steel with a splash of reddish chocolate at the bottom of the wreath. On the plus side, the date and LIBERTY are strong and most of the reverse legend is readable. LDS, Breen state V, with a strong bisecting die crack across the obverse.
Estimated Value $400-UP.

Realized $1,265
