Lot 750

1856 C-1 R2. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Lustrous mint red fading to bluish steel brown on the highpoints, at least half the red remaining. There is a trace of an old fingerprint in the field between star 1 and the throat and a nick-like vertical planchet chip just left of star 7. MDS, Manley state 2.0, with a sharp die line from the leaf under ES in STATES. A very nice example of a date that seldom comes with this much original mint color. Our grade is MS63.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
The William Pannier Estate.

Realized $863
