1853 N-31 R4+ MS62+. Lustrous bluish steel brown with 20-25% of the mint red remaining. No spots or stains, and the only contact mark is a small diagonal nick high on the cheekbone. There are some very tiny planchet chips in the field right of star 5, another on the outer edge of the rim over star 7, and a tiny struck-through line right of star 13, all as struck. MDS, die state b late. An outstanding example of this scarce variety, third finest known in the Grellman census. DWH #2687.
