1853 N-25 R1 Repunched 1 & 3 AU58. Frosty medium brown. The surfaces are satiny and attractive, just a hint of rub away from mint state. Some very fine carbon dust on the upper half of the 8 is the only notable defect. EDS, die state a. The repunching under the base of the 1 is sharp, and the fine die lines at TE in UNITED and ATES in STATES are visible. A much earlier die state than the usually encountered hoard states of this variety, second finest known of the early state in the Grellman census. DWH #1478.
