Lot 54

1843 N-8 R2+ MS60+. Frosty bluish steel brown. The fields are satiny and lustrous offering outstanding eye appeal for the grade. A tiny, very light hairline scratch in the field over star 13, a small scuff leaving a shiny spot in the field under the chin, and a very tiny rim nick at star 8 are the only notable defects, and they are trivial. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state a. There is no crumbling under the nose and the die line at the inner curl is crisp. CC#6 in the Grellman census. DWH #2027.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
Ex Tony Terranova, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 1/7/95:575-R. S. Brown, Jr., McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 6/2/2002:135.
