Lot 53

1843 N-6 R1 Mature Head MS63. Lustrous medium steel brown and olive with underlying very faded red in the fields and protected areas. The surfaces are satiny and very attractive. The only defect is a small planchet void on the rim under the 3, as struck. M-LDS, die state c, with a thin but clear rim cud break at star 13 and a weaker one at star 5. A choice example with outstanding eye appeal. Tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. DWH #0911.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.
Acquired prior to 3/90 from an unrecorded source (possibly Dr. Bob Shalowitz).

Realized $1,783
