Great Britain. Pound, 1642. S.2941; North-2400; Morr'D2. Charles I, 1625-1649. Oxford Mint. Chequered exergue type. Obverse: King on horseback left trampling over arms., mint mark Oxford plue, Oxford plume behind King, the area below ground line is chequered. Reverse: Mint mark seven pellets, three oxford plumes above mark of value and declaration with date below. Believed to be the finest of the six known specimens therefore exceedingly rare. NGC graded AU-50.
Estimated Value $30,000 - 35,000.
