Lot 432

1851 N-6 R1 Repunched 1’s MS65. Lustrous light bluish steel brown with 25% of the mint color remaining on the obverse, 60% on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and virtually flawless, a small splash of slightly lighter golden tan toning at the bust tip the only notable mark. Extremely rare terminal die state, die state e, with a clear rim cud break at the bottom of the reverse, from below the right edge of the ribbon loop to under the end of that ribbon. The lines up from the coronet and hair and the repunching on the 1's are gone. Finest of only 3 known with the rim cud, and finest of the die variety regardless of the die state. Removed from a PCGS slab graded MS65RB (PCGS label included). DWH #3240.
Estimated Value $600-UP.
