1850 N-13 R4 MS62. Lustrous bluish steel brown with traces of mint red on the obverse, nearly 10% of the mint color remaining on the reverse. There is an extremely faint hairline from star 2 to the field off the nose tip, a speck of carbon under the left side of the 8, and a small spot of slightly darker toning under star 10. Rare EDS, die state a, with the reverse uncracked. The fields are covered with fine die polishing lines and are slightly reflective, and there is no hint of the die sinking usually found on the reverse. CC#3 overall but tied for finest known of the EDS. DWH #2140.
