1840 N-4 R3- Small Date The so-called 40 over 39 overdate MS60. Lustrous bluish steel and light olive brown with sea-green overtones. The surfaces are satiny and very attractive. The only marks are a few very light nicks in the field above the head and a speck of carbon in the hollow right of Y in LIBERTY. MDS, die state b, with a series of rim cud breaks under the 18 and at stars 1-3. The hub defects under the date (the faux 40 over 39 overdate) are sharp. A beautiful "greenie." Noyes photo #30229.
