Sicily, Siculo-Punic Coinage, c. 335 BC. Gold Stater (9.39 g). Bust left of Tanit (Persephone) wreathed with grain, wearing necklace and triple-drop earring. Reverse: Horse standing right on exergual line; in lower right field, three pellets. Cf. Jenkins & Lewis group III f (these dies not shown); Müller 45. Flan flaw in left obverse field. Choice Very Fine with a particularly attractive reverse.

Early Siculo-Punic staters of fine gold are at least a dozen times rarer than the later electrum issues.
