1902, $20 National Bank Note. The California NB, Santa Ana, CA. PCGS Very Fine 20. Fr-653. . KL-1305. Third Charter Date Backs and Plain Backs only from this rare bank, which issued for just a dozen years before liquidating in early 1923. Only six notes are known, a number which has remained unchanged for several years with no new discoveries in the last decade or so. Purple signatures add to the visual appeal of this note that was in both the Charles Colver and the Lowell Horwedel collections. It last sold for a hair over $4,000 when last offered in 2004.
