Lot 200

1847 N-13 R4 MS63. Frosty mint red toning to steel brown on the highpoints, nearly half the original mint color remaining. Nicely struck with outstanding eye appeal. The only marks are a dull, light nick on the tip of the nose and a few very light contact marks that barely alter the luster in the field right of stars 1-3. MDS, die state b. The die crack at MER is clear but the second crack up from that R has not formed. Tied for CC#2 behind a marginally finer example. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS64RB (NGC label included, and it shows the attribution and Reiver provenance). DWH #2985.
Estimated Value $600-UP.
Ex Del Bland 7/19/69-Jules Reiver, Heritage 1/24/06:20278.

Realized $1,680
