Lot 143

1846 N-11 R1 Medium Date MS60. Glossy medium brown and chocolate with a hint of faint iridescent rose and bluish steel overtone on the obverse. Lightly cleaned and covered with an extremely thin layer of lacquer or similar substance that leaves a very high gloss to the surfaces. No spots or stains, and the eye appeal is excellent. A very tiny chip on the rim over star 4, as struck, is the best identifying mark. EDS, die state a, with hard, reflective fields on both sides and fine die lines from the dentils under the date. Tied for CC#9 in the Grellman census. DWH #3159.
