1846 N-5 R2 Repunched Date AU50. Attractive glossy medium brown very delicately woodgrained with olive toning on the obverse. Satiny mint luster shows in the protected areas on both sides. There is a small depression on the rim right of star 10 and a tiny nick on the rim under the left edge of the 6 in the date. Late die state, die state h, with a continuous series of rim cuds over STATE, and those cud breaks are clearly defined on this piece. Tied for finest of only 11 known in this die state. Repunching remains visible on all 4 digits of the date, clearest under the base of the 1. DWH #3250.
