Lot 1311

1916. PCGS graded MS-66 Full Bands. Boldly struck and mostly white with blazing fresh luster. The somewhat wide rims are characteristic of 1916-P (and 1916-D) Mercury dimes. They are more properly termed Winged Liberty Head dimes, since the Roman god Mercury had wings on his feet and didn't wear a Liberty cap. But the Mercury name sticks and that is how these have lovingly come down to us in the 21st Century (PCGS # 4905) .
Estimated Value $200 - 225.

Realized $299
