Lot 123

1846 N-3 R2 Repunched Date AU50. Glossy light olive brown with frosty faded mint color covering the protected areas. There is very little if any actual wear, but the stars, top of the head, and wreath are weakly struck giving the appearance of wear. The only mark is a small, elongated pinprick in the field left of star 11. Extremely rare late die state, die state c, with a strong, clearly defined rim cud break at ES in STATES. The repunching on the 4 is clear. Tied for CC#2 of 11 known with this cud, and the cud is weak on several of those examples. Noyes photo #30260. DWH #3226.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
Ex Chris McCawley 8/91-Bob Grellman 7/25/06.

Realized $351
