Lot 862

1800/179 S-194 R3 Overdate 180 over 179 with Style II Hair PCGS graded VF25 with CAC. Glossy chocolate brown and steel with underlying frost in protected areas. The only defects are a faint swipe of microscopic roughness from under LIB to the ends of the hair ribbon and a pinprick under the D in UNITED. Otherwise this cent is flawless, although the gloss is subdued by a thin layer of oxidation. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state III. A fine die crack arcs through the fraction bar but there are no rim cuds on the reverse. Our grade is VF20. The overdate feature is noted on the PCGS label.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.

Realized $1,668
