Lot 739

1849 C-1 R2- MS60. Glossy olive and chocolate brown with generous traces of mellowed mint red showing on the obverse and at least 20% of the brighter mint color remaining on the reverse. The obverse is very attractive and those fields are covered with fine die polishing lines from a fresh lapping. The only notable defect on the obverse is a small low spot in the field behind the main curl (caused by debris on the die). The reverse, however, shows many tiny low spots caused by debris (most likely lubricating grease). MDS, Manley state 2.0.
Estimated Value $300-UP.

Realized $460
