Lot 724

1828 C-3 R1 NGC graded MS65 Red. Lustrous bright original mint red just starting to fade to light steel brown on the highest points of the design. At least 90% of the original mint color remains. The eye appeal of this piece is exceptional. The best identifying marks are a tiny speck of dark toning in the field right of Y in LIBERTY and a barely visible horizontal struck-through line over 82 in the date. MDS, Manley state 3.0. A truly outstanding half cent. Our grade is consistent with the slab grade. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Pop 1; the finest red graded at NGC for the date.
Estimated Value $3,000-UP.
