Lot 637

1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Sixpence Noe-33 Rarity-5 NGC graded VF20. Attractive glossy light silvery steel with medium steel gray toning in the protected areas. No marks or planchet defects, just a slight vertical wave in the planchet created by the rocker press used to strike these thin silver pieces. The obverse (tree side) is misaligned to the top, as usual, while the reverse is properly centered on the planchet. The tree is clear while the date and VI denomination are bold. A very nice example of this tough denomination. Weight shown as 33.2 grains on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $1,600-UP.

Realized $2,473
