Lot 3229

1914-D $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-65. Lovely shades of rose color gold. Sharply original throughout, the surfaces show many nuances in the bloom and there are no mentionable spots or heavy abrasion on either side, only a few normal light bagmarks consistent with MS65 condition. Fortunately for bidders, this coin, too, like the rest in this remarkable consignment of Gem Saints, was struck with the controlled precision you'd expect to see throughout the outer peripheral areas, while thoroughly bold and uncompromised at all other locations. Pop 914; 58 finer (PCGS # 9165) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,100.
