Lot 2905

1901/0-S $5 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-64. Well struck plus nice light gold toning. Encounters with this overdate are few and far between in all grades except lower ones while examples in the better grades of Mint State become elusive. The luster has a special quality, the fields are vivid yellow-gold and some pale mellow orange-gold accents elsewhere. Sharp in all areas -- this being a typical well-made S-mint -- the choice, almost abrasion-free radiance on either side give it a boost. The underdigit is clear toward the upper right side of the 1 in the date.Pop 74; 17 finer, 15 in 65, 2 in 66 (PCGS # 8403) .
Estimated Value $1,200 - 1,300.

Realized $1,380
