Lot 1971

1847 Hawaiian Cent. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown. Traces of mint color still visable. Quite a rare coin this nice. Some deep purple color around the bust of King Kamehameha (who reigned 1824-1854). This is the only instance where a one-cent piece was made for and issued in the Kingdom of Hawaii. Most of the original 100,000 minted were subsequently melted (PCGS # 10965) .
Estimated Value $1,600 - 1,700.
