Lot 1274
1856 N-21 R2 Italic 5 MS60. Glossy light olive blending to darker olive brown in protected areas. Possibly lightly cleaned and retoned, but the color is attractive and the underlying flowline luster is intact. A single vertical nick in the field before the nose is the only notable mark. M-LDS, die state b early. The die line from the dentils to the top of the second S in STATES is faint.
