Lot 1263

1856 N-2 R1 Italic 5 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Glossy chocolate and steel brown. Underlying mint frost covers the fields and protected areas and the eye appeal is excellent. No spots, stains, or notable contact marks. However, there is a significant low spot (created by debris on the die) extending from high on the cheek down to the 8 in the date. The 8 is severely weakened by the low spot but the other 3 numerals are clear. M-LDS, die state d, with several fine die cracks on the obverse. Our grade is MS60. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 2; 1 finer in 66BN.
Estimated Value $200-UP.

Realized $196
