Lot 1181

1850 N-26 R4 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. The obverse is frosty light olive and chocolate brown while the reverse is frosty dark olive and chocolate. No spots or marks, but the contrast in toning is a distraction. Sharply struck MDS, die state b. The line above the N in UNITED is clear only over the left side of that letter. Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#8 of this scarce variety in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 1 finer in 66BN.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
Ex Doug Bird 11/8/03.
